'Lies My Parents Told Me'

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

All rain here. Folks just west of us got freezing rain, so I'm counting my blessings. Love snow, but freezing rain is evil.

Sadly, it's now perfectly normal -- I've woken up into a headache every day since the concussion.

I remember that feeling well...when I had the viral encephalitis. I hope the tests today help them figure out what's going on.

So, can I strangle my Computers and Humans professor? Remember, he's the one that required that we write a 6-8 page outline for our 10-15 page final paper. I got my outline back yesterday. He had NO comments. None. Said, "Looks reasonable so far." That's it.

Now, I suppose I should take it as a compliment, but damn. I put a lot of work into that. I wanted comments!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Were you looking for comments to give you more work to do? Because you really don't need anyone to give you more work to do. Take is as a "good job, right direction" and you'll be fine.

That's a good point. I guess I was expecting there to be some, "maybe move this around" and "you need more data here" or "you don't need as many examples here." Oh well. I will just proceed and hope it means I'm on the right track to get a good grade.

That does seem to be the vw bug track, so I'd say it's a good plan.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I will just proceed and hope it means I'm on the right track to get a good grade.

It does. Asking for an outline is pretty much a disaster aversion/reality check move, with an extra dose of "make them start sometime before the day of the deadline". It's not so much a chance to give the good students a lot of really detailed feedback (because, honestly, it wouldn't even be fair to do so before they've actually fleshed out their arguments), as a chance to say "holy shit, no, you can't possibly do this!" before it's too late. You're doing fine.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Weather report from Western Fairfax County, VA: About 2 inches of snow with a thin icy overlay. Feds are excusing late arrivals of up to 2 hours.

And, just FTR, I got to the office about 8:20.

Always Anti-fascist!

(showing hand for Angels In America) And to think I was ticked when it wasn't Sopranos/The Wire. I had never heard of it except a synopsis in the paper a few days before, but I was very impressed.
