Midway is virtually closed down because a plane had a bad landing and busted through the fence and ended up on the street. No one on the plane was hurt, but I heard 3 people on the street were wounded when their cars got hit by the plane.
Damn. A 737. Not a small plane.

And here, where we should have snow, it rains. Yeah for the snow days but boo for the crappy commutes.
They'd all probably work on you, but I do favor the first (and shortest) cut.
Why am I not surprised by this?
eta: Re-reading, it kind of looked like I was complaining about not getting the snow. I'm not. Really. We can keep rain. No snow or ice is fine by me.
I would be snotty and smug right now, but this is like the one time of the year when living in a soulless armpit on the surface of the sun works out. But I still have to be *here* so, really? Not ahead by much.
Adding it all up, tonight I have drunk an ENTIRE BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE. Maybe a little more.
This year's holiday party = better than last year's.

He's a priest and doing the services so he wanted to get in as early as possible to just be there for the family. Looks like all of the siblings and cousins will be arriving tomorrow after all.

The 13-mile (I just checked on Google maps) commute that generally takes me 20-ish minutes took me 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Cripes. I believe I mentioned the hundred and some people who are supposed to be coming in tonight for this super important conference tomorrow?
I took one look at the streets and took the train home. Eight or ten block walk on the other end was nothing compared to how long it would have taken on my usual "express."
They are saying don't go out unless it's an emergency. But it's supposed to stop snowing later tonight, so hopefully they'll have gotten some plowing done by tomorrow morning.
Hoping everyone in the path of heavy snow stays safe and warm, or as warm as possible. Safe is the biggie.
My tv just had a southwest airline commercial advertising low fares for flights to Midway.
