On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

So.

4 hours and 25 minutes ago, I posted this:

Of course, I'm probably about to get stuck in traffic (which should normally take 20 minutes) for well over an hour.

It did, in fact, take well over an hour. The 13-mile (I just checked on Google maps) commute that generally takes me 20-ish minutes took me 4 hours and 15 minutes.

I have driven to Cleveland in less time than that. For real.

Do we have a foot of snow? No. The weather guys are saying 4 inches so far, but after observing it for 4 hours at about 2 mph, I think it's more like 2 or 2.5 at most.

I need to kill someone, right now.

Hey, Teppy -- I know YOU have food year-round but... [link]

Or, perhaps, eat a box of Mallomars.

Yes. A box of Mallomars would make me feel better.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Holy fuck. That's evil.

What is even happening?

Yes, but you and your car got home safe Teppy, yes?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have red hair again!

Nicole, that coworker should die. Also, insent.

Jesus. I'm brain-dead from 4 hours of inhaling exhaust from the cars in front of me.

Yes, but you and your car got home safe Teppy, yes?

Yes indeed, which I do know is the most important thing. But I still need to choke a bitch.

Or maybe just have a glass of wine.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh dear... The weather demons are being quite demonic tonight.

My uncle is stuck in Denver for at least three hours on his way from Oregon to Chicago to preside over his uncle's funeral. Mom is at my house and will fly out tomorrow.

I am staying here because my dad and stepmom are having a Christmas party for which there is no excuse to miss. I laughingly asked if death would be valid and they suggested I make sure I get my corpse cleaned up nicely and go mingle.

Can it be January?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The snow wasn't too bad when I left work (3 inches?), so I decided to take CTA home, despite the fact that their trains are much more likely to be affected by snow than the big diesel Metra trains. So I get to the Davis St station and it's more than twice as crowded than I've ever seen it. I only had to wait ten mintures for a Purple Line train, but it turns out that the two trains before it both had to be taken out of service because ice had messed up their doors, causing them to stick open or closed.

Anyway, it was fun to watch all the people and the cars dealing with the snow. I'm sure it would have been much less fun if I had to drive....

I'm getting the pig!

Woot for red hair, sj! Too bad I went dark brunette or else we'd be twins again.

Tomorrow my coworker dies. Especially since I need gas desperately and my normal station doesn't take checks.

Tep, glad you're home safe. You're welcome to choke my bitch coworker any time you want. I'll even pay for your flight.

sj, I'm heading over to yahoo!IM Right Now!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The 13-mile (I just checked on Google maps) commute that generally takes me 20-ish minutes took me 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Ho.Lee.Crap. I just got home myself. My usual 45 minute commute from school (about 15-20 miles) took me 2 full hours. Compared to 4 hours? That's nothing.

My uncle is stuck in Denver for at least three hours on his way from Oregon to Chicago

Uh. Oh. I've heard the delays at O'Hare are over 2 hours. Midway is virtually closed down because a plane had a bad landing and busted through the fence and ended up on the street. No one on the plane was hurt, but I heard 3 people on the street were wounded when their cars got hit by the plane.
