I have to admit to getting a bit of satisfaction at how many SUVs in ditches we passed.
See? It's the stopping thing. We got a pretty good snow the Friday after T'giving. I was driving home, on side streets, in the worst of it. While my car handles great in the snow with no slips or slides, it does nothing for me when I try to stop. I saw a bunch of SUV's whizzing past me and all I could think was, "I don't wanna be near you when you hit a red light."
I have lived for YEARS (or at least since 2000) with the nearest Buffista either in Toronto or NYC! This is so exciting!
That's years, for sure.
We should totally plan something. December's going to be really hairy for me, but January would be good. Provided we're not, you know, snowed under.
::crosses fingers::
Ask Juliana. We're having january weather.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the frostbite in my ears. At least we don't have straight-line winds. Yet.
Sophia, I just friended you on LJ. I'm amy37, if you're wondering who that strange new user name belogns to.
Thanks for letting me know, strange new user! December is hairy for me as well, but January could be better (depending on when I get designs for my next show). I'd love to see a Buffista!
I want a Subaru. 4WD, and I don't need the skills of a semi driver to park it.
My biggest cripe with SUVs, though, is that their headlights are at the same height as my rear view mirror. I so need a mirror that I can flip to a different setting and still see behind me.
I am like windsparrow in the not-getting-ready-for-work-syndrome. I hoawever, still have about an hour to procrastinate.
is that their headlights are at the same height as my rear view mirror.
Someone flashed their brights at me last night. I assume that they thought MY brights were on because I sit a tad bit higher than sedans and my lights are more in their face. And, not a lot higher, mind you. I drive a wee SUV (Subaru Forester, more station wagon than SUV).
I could also use some health~ma for a coworker's grandson. He was at a birthday party this weekend when he and another boy got on the parents' treadmill. Even though it was one of those that should only turn on when there's a card in place the boys somehow managed to get treadmill turned on.
My coworker's grandson fell off, but his shirt got caught in the treadmill and before the adults he suffered from 1st degree rug burns on his arms and hands. (My co worker and her son and daughter in law don't blame the other parents for this, they realize it was just an accident).
The little boy is 3 yrs old and he doesnt' seem too tramautized, and they thought he was healing okay, but today the doctor wants a plastic surgeon to look over one place on his arms.
I so need a mirror that I can flip to a different setting and still see behind me.
which is why I prefer driving the VUE through the canyon rather than my SL2. It took me awhile to convince DH that if you are driving a taller vehicle - you need to leave a little more space between you and the shorter car in front of you- so you don't blind them. but he drove the SL2 through the canyon once - and he learned.
