Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

I'm pretty sure the first OB/GYN practice I found where we used to live didn't perform abortions *and* didn't refer, because the hospital they were affiliated with was Catholic. Privately, I don't know what each doctor did if asked for advice or a referral, but I do know the senior physician there was very gung-ho about me trying the "family planning" (or rhythm) method of birth control.

The whole thing kind of astounded me, because I'd never run into a practice like that -- but I'd also never had any experience with a Catholic hospital.

This conversation is eerily synchronous for me, b/c I'm editing an article about mifepristone (one of the two drugs in the RU-486 regimen), and the nasty side effects it can have on the woman, particularly if it doesn't actually end the pregnancy. Nasty stuff.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

In light of our current discussion I ask your indulgence...

Thrive to spite them

there are reports of pharmacists who won't dispense mental-health-related medication, for instance.

Can you point me to information about this? I'd like to know which pharmacies are letting this happen.

I'd have to google to find it, so you might have just as much luck as I would doing a search. But let me know if you don't find it.

Unrelated to pharmacies:

Stephanie, I am *totally* buying your coffee for people for Xmas! I have coffee hounds in my family, and they'll be thrilled to get it.

t edit What's the shipping time like? I didn't see that on the website.

Trust my rage

woo hoo - I'm thrilled to hear it!

eta: see - this is why we are testing. :) We are using USPS so probably 2-3 days depending on where we are shipping to. It will probably take us just 1 day to get the coffee in the mail.

Stephanie, I just went over to the site myself -- very cool! What a great idea. Fingers crossed it works out really well!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Fingers definitely crossed for you, Stephanie.

Heya. I have Dry Eye, lucky me. Starting to feel a bit beaten down, yessirree.

Oh, excellent. I think I'll wait until next week, then, so it's nice and fresh, but also not a time crunch the week of Xmas.
