Oh, Beverly, that's awful. (((Beverly))) (Nobody understood when I was upset about the Eucalyptus decimation, either).
Stephanie, is Ellie feeling any better today?
'Get It Done'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bev, I wish we could trade cities and power companies for the tree-ness. Seattle's desire to be Very Green caused a tree-planting madness, and I don't think the PTB thought about waterlines and the proximity of the actual houses, so I am frustrated by inappropriate but protected oaks in our parking strip.
It seems a shame that mine have to stay and yours have to go, when mine are an actual PITA and causer of problems, and yours less so.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS PRINCESS EMELINE!
With much love from me and Princess Ticky-Box.
Do any knitters hang here, or are they strictly Natterers?
ooh, in other news, I was reading Rex Reed's review of Johnny Depp in "The Libertine" and it has the line "He’s 33 years old, and his nose falls off." People asked me why I was giggling.
The Libertine is Puppet Angel?
That's the trouble with your job, Hec. Got nothing to do with...never mind. Bunk, you're good, okay. You're so good, you got me to read about "Yummy, yummy," and I *hate* that song.(except for the part where now it makes me think of you with the fondness and the glayvin) But before that? Major loathage. So...try not to worry, babe. I think you got it.
I live in a neighborhood with a lot of trees - part of why we wanted to be here. however, the trees lineing the street are Gum trees. seedpods are evil death ball. and limbs fall of randomly. and they don't die. WE had large branches fall into the driveway. and they were over powerlines.( or maybe cable). Anyway it took the city a Year to do something about the trees. They trimmed more than I expected, however they did do a good job. I think the city plan is to keep the tress where ever possible, but to make sure the trees don't do any damage that the city could be held responsible for. Oddly reasonable and sensable.
Pitch~ma to Honored Hecubus. Much book-sellage!
PM, I know. People can be irrational. Are. Often. More often than not, I guess. We tend to trip up on odd things, too, like trees. Or spotted owls, or shoes. It would be nice, though, if as you said, the things that impede could be removed or amended, and the ones that don't be left alone.
Beverly, "The Libertine" is about Lord Rochester (Depp), with Charles II played by John Malkovich.
And we recently had a little situation where one of the embassies wanted to chop down an old tree and the neighborhood rallied around to save it. I think they're still trying to negotiate something to keep everyone more or less happy.
