Btw? I'd think about cutting a section out of the new rug in front of the fireplace and put down some sort of fireproof slate or marble barrier, but I'm kind of paranoid about carpets that close to a fireplace.

t-, the garden reminds me of my grandmother's, right down to the swan. I just need to add a couple of flamingos, a pond and a garden gnome. Okay, no flamingos and the garden gnome is under discussion.

Daniel, I never thought of that, but you're right, that is a little unprotected. I think I could fix it pretty easily, though.

Deena, my brother customizes flamingos, if you decide you want some. They are stil more kitsch than class, but not so much cliches.

Jars, I think you cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for your neighbor is one of the truest examples of Love thy neighbor I can remember seeing. I know that people who didn't grow up with a Thanksgiving holiday don't always get our extreme devotion to it. That can't be said of you. What a lovely, lovely gesture.

Aimee, I hope you can use your drains, soon. How frustrating. I hope you, MM, Em, and your guests have a lovely Thanksgiving, and that you can look back on the rest of this as a laugh, sooner than later.
