Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy thanksgiving everyone. Jars, you're very nice and I would like a neighbor like you were I too far to have t'day at home. Aimee, I hope the plumber arrived and all is well with the flushing and whatnot.
I'm tired. The turkey's almost done, the salads are all made, I decided the pies could wait until this weekend. There will be no mashed potatoes as I'm a lazy git and Nick, whose job they normally are, decided to go have dinner with his girlfriend's family. I was a little bothered by that at first, but realizing I don't have to live up to his expectations of a perfect t'day has made me feel much better about it.
I'm going to see this house on Monday. If I like it, we're going to buy it.

(all fingers crossed and wood knocked)
Our turkey just went in. Everything else is either warming on the stove or in the fridge staying chilled.
My tiny little pumpkin pots de creme are awesome. They are chilling in the downstairs fridge.
I even had time to shower this year! I don't have to start the mashies or gravy for at least another hour. La la la la la.
Hope everyone's having as good a time as I am today!
Good house-ma to you, Deena!
Ooooh, house~ma Deena!
I have the three things (mine, mom's and uncles') I am responsible for under control.
I need to shower.
I suspect when I honestly look at what I have left to do and how much time I have, there will be a minor panic (of the "OMG!" kind, not the panic attack kind) but that's part of the holiday magic...
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I like the pictures, Deena. That garden looks awesome. Good house~ma.
I am boggled by the whole ring thing. When DH's boss proposed, he told his fiance how much a ring would have to cost to be the two months salary deal. She said exactly what i said when I figured it out based on H's salary - "I can't walk around with that much money on my hand". Hope you're allowed to drain and flush soon if not now, Aimee.
Turkey's in the oven, the lions are losing on TV, all's rihgt with the world. We don't have to starrt anything else for a couple of hours. And I may have successfully delegated all the side dishes - go me and my mad managerial skilz!
Oh, and today we gave Walter his first ever turkey neck. He's a happy dog.
There were two in my bird, for some reason, but I'm using one to make stock.
Deena, that's a wonderful looking house. I envy you that kitchen, all the cupboards!
I just realized I only have one beer left. Debating on whether or not to chance the closest grocery store to see if it's still open. If not, there's at least one gas station convenience store on the way home.
Sail, can't you call them?
I'm going to see this house on Monday. If I like it, we're going to buy it.
Deena, great house, I hope you get it.
Btw? I'd think about cutting a section out of the new rug in front of the fireplace and put down some sort of fireproof slate or marble barrier, but I'm kind of paranoid about carpets that close to a fireplace.
Thanks for the house~ma, guys. I think Nora and Tom scared us off from looking for a little while, but our apartment building just sold so we've started again and it's very exciting.
t-, the garden reminds me of my grandmother's, right down to the swan. I just need to add a couple of flamingos, a pond and a garden gnome. Okay, no flamingos and the garden gnome is under discussion.
Daniel, I never thought of that, but you're right, that is a little unprotected. I think I could fix it pretty easily, though.
