Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Emmett: Dibs on Rivendell!

Oh, I so want to tag this.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Now, the big question is, Did Arwen take all of her clothes or did she leave them and, subquestion, does living in Rivendell make you skinny enough to fit into her clothes?

I think the lambas is by Jenny Craig.

Emmett was later singing a sing about Legolas shooting oliphaunts and fell beasts in the eye. The lyric "...and he's gonna kick your ass so bad!" was in the chorus.

I don't think he'd object.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My sister and I have neatly solved our T-day preparation issues by getting invited to dinner at like three places. So first we ruled out the one where "we don't drink on Thanksgiving". Now we're going to a nice low key (if you can do that with 18) family with a bunch of our favorite people and just have to make dessert.

I think my next-door neighbour is a bit upset at missing Thanksgiving this year. Any ideas or Thanksgivingy type things I could do to cheer him up? Currently my only plan is the liberal application of alcohol.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Dear Aimee,

When Emma's present gets there, and you think "why did she send a present wrapped with no ribbon", know that there is, it's just special Emperor's ribbon.

OKThanxbye!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Take the damn turkey out of the FREEZER

Be sure to thaw at room temperature instead of in the fridge. It'll take too long in the fridge.

I'm doing something similar, brenda. My friend, Scott, hosts T'giving every year for a group of friends. His mom is in town and they do the turkey and ham and we all bring side dishes, appetizers, desserts, and wine. With 18 people there, we end up with quite a spread.

Tonight, I'm baking a sweet potato pie and then tomorrow I'll roast some asparagus before heading over to Scott's.

It's a nice, low-key day. To use Aimee's phrase, it's a Family of the Heart kind of holiday.

does living in Rivendell make you skinny enough to fit into her clothes?

Eventually. Let's face it Rivendell is pretty, but there's no place to eat. Plus when you move in, you are required to take part in the the mandatory Elfercize program.

Herding cats for fun

Wheee! I have the day off. Unpaid, but still: a day off. I'm going to go for a nice healthy walk around the lake, and then I shall make deep dish apple pie and work on my blanket project.

So I have to get to go down to LA to attend some corporate training. Sadly, it turns out I will need "more professional" attire. I don't seem to understand what falls between The Suit I wore for my interview and what I've been wearing. I thought that wearing good slacks with a drapey cotton or silk T-shirt was OK. I don't like button-up shirts because they never fit me right. They gap at the breast and poof up around the waist and make it disappear.

Turkey sandwich, can of cranberry sauce, mash a spud. Maybe rent a football movie for him, like North Dallas Forty or The Longest Yard? Hum a few bars of Alison's Restaurant. Then watch Addams Family Values (it has the great Thanksgiving pageant scene) together while liberally drinking the alcohol.
