'Beneath You'

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Steph, it really is. Ernie's pretending to talk to an elephant on a banana, and he wants Bert to talk to her.

Okay, that is some SERIOUSLY funny shit!!!

The conversation sounds like a prelude to a blind date. "Well, I'd say I'm kind of tall."

I got a lot more enjoyment out of it than the kids did.

Mostly lurking...

Is it too early to go to bed?

The movie I wanted to go see started at 7:25, so that's out. I don't want to do anymore homework. And, Emily needs to study for a big exam tomorrow, so tv is out.

So, it looks like to bed it is. Wow. I lead a boring life.

I have never even heard of pumpkin ravioli
Oh, I should make butternut squash ravioli tonight. It's from Trader Joe's and nummalicious.

And butter can go rancid but in the fridge, I have never ever had it happen.

My cable is out. Bugger. I'm just going to keep trying to post.

I won't have my ravioli love squarshed by The Man. Or, more accurately, Cox. But you know, half of one, six dozen of the other.

eta: Wheeeee! Connectivity RAWKS!

However, it apparently does kill the thread.

All is well that ends in pizza.

If your butter is expired, but still looks good...what's wrong with it?

I was going to ask, too. Butter should really have "Best by" dates, IMHO.

I've had it in the 'fridge for weeks after, and for months in the freezer if it has a cardboard box.

Thrive to spite them

I'm attempting to make soup. God knows how it will turn out. I have kale, I have potatoes I even have leeks. I have no chicken broth or milk. I did find a recipe for potato kale soup that sound really bland, the only seasoning was salt for the potatoes.

So I figured I'll try it and then add my own seasonings. I put the water on to boil, chopped everything, realized I probably should have sauted the onion and leek in the pot first, but I did that in a seperate skillet. Then I remembered another soup recipe with leeks where the recipe called for cooking the leeks in the water to flavor it, so I did that. So now the potatoes and sauted onion and leek are in the water (leek leaves taken out), plus 2 bay leaves. I realized I have turnip greens to use up before the kale so I'm going to try that.

I'll see how this turns out. I may end up throwing it out and making mac and cheese.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Sounds good, askye. I love potato soup with leeks and onions! I hope it turns out well.

Happy Date-versary to sj & TCG!

I'm coveting this creamer & sugar bowl. My hand is perilously close to clicking "checkout" on my amazon account.

Greg cooked tonight. Pizza Hut dinner buffet. It was pretty good. Also, Aidan tolerated a little cheese yesterday, so we let him have a piece of cheese pizza today. Oh the bliss on that boy's face.

I had my first remicade infusion today. It was a little painful, a lot tiring, but if it works it's going to feel much better to be me.

Deena, what's remicade and what's it for, the fibromyalgia?

ETA: Nebbermind. I just went and checked LJ. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
