Wow, Jilli. That's beautiful.
Betsy, I hope the drugs kick back in soon. And I, too, sympathize with the not-wanting-to-be-dependent thing.
Jessica, I glare at your office for you. Wankers.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I think my office should chip in and buy it for me.
They should, yes.
Because I am *that* predictable, I emailed the lady who made it and said "Sooo, how much for you to duplicate that hat?" She quoted me an insanely reasonable amount, so I'm getting a hat in red/black skull brocade.
next time that you're asked to chip in, say "oh, I thought that we had stopped doing birthdays since we didn't do anything for mine last month"
That is a very good response. Vortex is wise.

Bwah! That's perfect.
Now *that* is a hat. Wow.
{{{Betsy}}} I very much know that feeling.
{{{Jessica}}} That's awful!
very lessened or no more menstrual cramps, forever and ever
This is a very good reason for surgery on your birthday. And Pete wouldn't be Pete if he weren't twitchy about the anesthesia issue, but you'll be fine. I've had it twice.
Also, that hat (actually the whole ensemble) is stunning.
and if they say "oh, we didn't know" or whatever lameness, be gracious, but insist on your own celebration. None of this "joint birthday" crap!
Jess, that really sucks. But Vortex rocks. You should totally do that.
I think the "oh, gosh, I thought we'd quit" is a masterpiece of passive-aggressive, in a situation for which passive-aggressive is the way to go. yea Vortex.
Does anybody know where to get a charming small tricorn? I don't want the Colonial Williamsburg kind; I want the kind scaled to a lady so that you can tip it forward on your hair.

The only thing I can think of is to look at some of the pirate hats that costume stores sell. I know I've seen smaller-scaled tricorns among those.
