Cass, should I jump back on IM? Would some chatting help?
Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Would you mind for a couple of minutes, vw?
Absolutely not! Hang on one sec.
I missed a musical discussion!
Professionally done shows I've seen in alphabetical order(a mostly complete list, though I'll probably forget something):
Assassins
Avenue Q
Beauty and the Beast
Cabaret
Chicago
Forbidden Broadway
Grease
Gypsy
Into the Woods
Les Miserables (twice)
Light in the Piazza
Lion King (twice)
Mamma Mia
Man of La Mancha
Phantom of the Opera
Rent (thrice)
Show Boat
Titanic
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Urinetown
Wicked
I love them all, and have gone through phases where different ones have been my favorite - Rent and Les Mis tied for the longest periods each, though Wicked has been in first for about a year now. After I see Sweeney Todd (yay!!!) it might come in first - I like the soundtrack, but Sondheim needs to be seen for me to get into it, and I hear the current production is brilliant. That's my Christmas present, is two tickets. Woo.
Over Thanksgiving, I'm seeing Fiddler, which currently has Rosie O'Donnel in it in a suprisingly well-reviewed performance. We'll see how that works out, I guess.
Did I mention how much I love living in NYC? This is the main reason why.
I swore the morning that I woke up humming "Oh what a beautiful morning" I was going to just slit my wrists and end it all right there.
Oh! I had forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder...

Great news, Kristin!
gingerbread pancakes sound amazing - where did you find such a treasure?
Seems to me David taunts us with those fairly regularly. I think my breakfast plans for the next time I hit SF are set.
Yes, well, that's because Emmett and I had breakfast with Teppy, Perkins and Deb at Zazie. I had the Eggs Pierre Noire which Deb assumed were poached in black butter, but were in fact Eggs Blackstone (get it?) in disguise. It was yum. While Emmett and I were awaiting the arrival of the others we kept busy by playing with a balsa wood glider and petting dogs.
Emmett is currently zonked on the couch after I made him play baseball in warm up for the tryouts. When JZ, Perkins and La Tep get back from their Lush run we'll be heading over to Deb's house for a Bayista get together with pretty much all hands on deck. Deb's making lamb shanks with a rub of cinnamon, cardomom and nutmeg. Roasted standing. Then deglazing with marsala. Then something with chicken stock. Braising. I don't know but it sounded good.
I introduced Teppy to Invader Zim and now she's going about crowing, "No one should taste so delicious!"

Wait, hadn't Teppy known about Zim before? Silly, silly woman.

I know, I was shocked. It's such a perfectly Tepulent show. I had to carefully explain that Gaz was in fact the forerunner to all the many, many goth cartoon girls currently running around on kid's shows these days. Every cartoon out there now has a goth girl or a black nerd boy for a sidekick, or (in some instances) both. It's a Thing.
And we didn't even see an episode with Gir in it! Gir's the best part.
