I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Ugh, to financial stuff, Gud. Here's hoping you have no more surprises now that things are straightened out. Money stuff in a relationship can get so weird, IMO. It's like we're all wired and raised differently and merging the financial lives can be the most stressful aspect of joining in a permanant relationship

Teppy, I hear you. I feel like every day I drag my sorry ass out of bed and to work and once I get here I instantly resent anyone who asks me anything or in any way interferes with me.

Mutter-grumble rassenfrassen state budget cuts causing fragging staff cuts causing remaining skeleton staff at many agency offices to struggle through the bare minimum possible and flop everything in my lap, causing me to spend an entire DAY setting up drafts for ONE LOUSY CLINIC.

JZ, in class we were JUST talking about the UC system when talking about declining state support in higher education across the US over the last 10 years. (as you might guess, it sucks monkey balls all over the country) Tomorrow's class is about federal govt's role which is very different and quite wacky compared to state gov.

I just called my boss by the wrong name. Whoops.

I think I need more coffee.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I think I need more coffee.

I think we all do.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Sorry...didn't mean to be all snotty.

It was a kind of cryptic question.

I just e-mailed Laura to see if she's still got juice and an update.

Boy, no posts while I was at lab. I'm disappointed in you all.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Boy, no posts while I was at lab. I'm disappointed in you all.

Emmett and I are home again today. He'll go back to school tomorrow.

We're going to try and round up his halloween costume today.

I've got a sore throat now, once again proving that if you live with two people with serious colds it's very tough to dodge the bacteria.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Annabel actually slept through the night, from 10:30 till 8:00 (I put her down at 9:00, but you can lead a toddler to the crib, but you can't make her sleep). After two nights in a row of at least 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I'm starting to feel human again myself, and my stupid cold from the beginning of the month is finally wearing off.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Hmmmm...to bagel or not to bagel. That is the question.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is the most idiotic cooking implement I've ever seen.
