[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Vetran's Day is hereby renamed Take Emma to Work Day ?

Because books.

Aimee, I would definitely ask why the hell they didn't include it on the master list, and only decided to inform parents a few days in advance. That's not right.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

She also made me pay for the entire week to go home last week.

God I hate daycare sometimes.

Librarian Warlord

I've only gotten Vet's Day off for the past couple of years, so it still feels like a wonderful bonus to me. I also love holidays that fall on Friday, rather than Monday. (So opinionated!)

Aimee, that isn't right. I'd offer to take her for the day, but the Central Valley is in the way. (Kicks Central Valley)

I had a haircut/color appt on Saturday, and got a call this morning that my stylist was going on a 4-6 week leave, so I'd have to reschedule. They tried to tell me the first available appointment was in 2 weeks. I pointed out that I leave in a week for a wedding in New Zealand, and really needed this taken care of this weekend. Then I refused to get off the phone until she found someone who would take me. (So stubborn.)

I voted, and got my little sticker that tells the world I did so. Happiness.

Mostly lurking...

WindSparrow, thanks for the idea. I have e-mailed the prof. Will see what he says.

Ugh, Aimee. That is really frustrating.

Ooooh, Empress - send her to me!!! I wanna play with Em! Umm, well, there is the distance thing, and the *I'm* supposed to be at work thing, oh, and the I'm sick and don't want to get her sick thing.

Crud.

Doctor's appt at 3pm.

My boss told me to quit talking. She said my voice sounds too painful. Gah.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

She's claiming she "missed" it on the Parent's Guideline.

I also asked about getting a discount last week for having to go to Michigan, just out of curiosity, and she got SNOTTY with me.

Ugh. I almost wish Em didn't like it there so much.

Sore throat has turned into scratchy/breaky voice. It sounds like it hurts and it sounds like it feels...so no talky would be a good thing, IF I could actually shut up. Not really a ME thing.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

My officemate just sent me an email saying she hopes my "stepdad" will be okay and that "the stroke is too severe." Bah! Sometimes you want to look your emails over before you send them.

(I suppose "stepfather" sounds weirdly formal -- it's just that he only married my mother this year and I've only met him a handful of times, so "stepdad" is kind of odd for me.)

Thank you all for your ma. My mom has to teach her classes and things and then will drive up to see him, so I won't know what's going on for a while. Will keep you up to date.
