Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

hey, I'm closer! I could just stop by after work and git him!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

vw, can you go to the prof now-ish and say, "Slight miscalculation in my planning for this project - I was hoping for x responses to my survey, from which I could happily give some preliminary analysis; instead I've gotten ___ and that will take more time, what with my recent spate of not being able to breathe. On the upside - sample size is frelling awesome, don't you think?"

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Grrrrr.

Note on the clipboard at daycare this morning informing us they will be closed for Veterans Day.

Yeah, it's not on the list of holidays they are closed for, I have no more paid time to take and I'm pretty sure Joe doesn't have any, either.

Fuck. A. Duck.

Do I throw a fit over this or no?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Do I throw a fit over this or no?

Are they charging you for the day? Whyfore are they closed if it's not on the list? I'd give them a call to ask this, at least. If it's an unscheduled closure, that really puts you in a twist.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Vetran's Day is hereby renamed Take Emma to Work Day ?

Because books.

Aimee, I would definitely ask why the hell they didn't include it on the master list, and only decided to inform parents a few days in advance. That's not right.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

She also made me pay for the entire week to go home last week.

God I hate daycare sometimes.

Librarian Warlord

I've only gotten Vet's Day off for the past couple of years, so it still feels like a wonderful bonus to me. I also love holidays that fall on Friday, rather than Monday. (So opinionated!)

Aimee, that isn't right. I'd offer to take her for the day, but the Central Valley is in the way. (Kicks Central Valley)

I had a haircut/color appt on Saturday, and got a call this morning that my stylist was going on a 4-6 week leave, so I'd have to reschedule. They tried to tell me the first available appointment was in 2 weeks. I pointed out that I leave in a week for a wedding in New Zealand, and really needed this taken care of this weekend. Then I refused to get off the phone until she found someone who would take me. (So stubborn.)

I voted, and got my little sticker that tells the world I did so. Happiness.

Mostly lurking...

WindSparrow, thanks for the idea. I have e-mailed the prof. Will see what he says.

Ugh, Aimee. That is really frustrating.

Ooooh, Empress - send her to me!!! I wanna play with Em! Umm, well, there is the distance thing, and the *I'm* supposed to be at work thing, oh, and the I'm sick and don't want to get her sick thing.

Crud.

Doctor's appt at 3pm.

My boss told me to quit talking. She said my voice sounds too painful. Gah.
