So yesterday I came to school dressed as a vampire, with a slightly-more-cleavagey-than-it-should-have-been embroidered black top and long black skirt, along with my shiny new BEST SHOES IN ALL THE WORLD EVER (of which you will hear more in time, possibly with photographs) and a scarlet-lined black hooded cape. And bite marks. And scarlet lipstick and nails and so forth. It was fab.
Only 5 members of staff elected to do the fancy dress thing here in the elementary school. Unsurprisingly Flatmate and I were two of them, and dear friend N (in flatmate's yeargroup, the New Yorker whom I mentioned the other day) was a third. The kids, however, went to town. More Mr Incredibles, Batmen, Spidermen and assorted Disney Princesses than one could shake a stick at. Much cuteness. I thought I'd be braced for the cuteness of Buffista babyfolk, but boy, was I ever wrong.
Em's Pink Cthulu crippled me with the cuteness, and then Annabel's cat reduced me to a gurgling wreck, and then Lilybean delivered the deathblow.
Am DED from teh cute.
Bless. Bless. Bless.
In other me-related news - we've got 4 days of holiday for the Eid, and I have nowhere to go. I feel decidedly pouty about it. I've got half a mind to go to the travel agency tonight and just bloody FIND a flight to Cyprus or Prague or Greece or Turkey or somewhere and go for a long weekend on my own. Damn it.
