[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I just cut-and-pasted practically everything from today's to do list into tomorrow's. Because after all, tomorrow is another day. This was the least productive day I've had that was supposed to be a workday in a long time, and I'm just trying to remind myself that days like this just happen sometimes so I can shrug it off, because I have a deadline to deal with! A self-imposed one, granted, but I promised an editor a full manuscript by 11/15, so now I have to prove myself a woman of my word.

Hey. New board.

Party was fun. Costume was hit - at least, people giggled at "I'm a road" and Gershwin Girl used it as an excuse to profess my cuteness, which is always a plus.

Am now drunk, and must wake up in 4 hours (!!!!) to go all the way downtown for observations.

Stupid Halloween being a Monday.

Tomorrow, will goggle at cutiehead pictures of cutiehead babies in cutiehead costumes.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Damn, those are some adorable babies!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Trust my rage

We are all up early this morning in our house, although that is Joe's fault, not Ellie's. I'm not sure about Ellie, but we had a great time last night. We went to a friend's house and there were lots of little princesses, a Jango Fett, a spider, and Ellie the peapod. As always, Ellie mostly loved watching the bigger kids and the little princesses loved playing with her. Jango Fett explained to me in great detail how breastfeeding works. He was very cute in his sincerity.

My main reaction from last night (after the cuteness of the kids) was a simultaneous this is really fun/how did we get to be the parents?

Lilylion was adorable. I loved Annabel in her cat costume - she really does look like a little girl. Em looks ready to get some candy - very cute! K-Bug and CJ were both great and I loved Suzi in her Yankees gear. Do we get Emmett pictures? Oh, and I almost forgot (because I saw them earlier) Kara and Aidan were cutiehead babies in their costumes too!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

So yesterday I came to school dressed as a vampire, with a slightly-more-cleavagey-than-it-should-have-been embroidered black top and long black skirt, along with my shiny new BEST SHOES IN ALL THE WORLD EVER (of which you will hear more in time, possibly with photographs) and a scarlet-lined black hooded cape. And bite marks. And scarlet lipstick and nails and so forth. It was fab.

Only 5 members of staff elected to do the fancy dress thing here in the elementary school. Unsurprisingly Flatmate and I were two of them, and dear friend N (in flatmate's yeargroup, the New Yorker whom I mentioned the other day) was a third. The kids, however, went to town. More Mr Incredibles, Batmen, Spidermen and assorted Disney Princesses than one could shake a stick at. Much cuteness. I thought I'd be braced for the cuteness of Buffista babyfolk, but boy, was I ever wrong.

Em's Pink Cthulu crippled me with the cuteness, and then Annabel's cat reduced me to a gurgling wreck, and then Lilybean delivered the deathblow.

Am DED from teh cute.

Bless. Bless. Bless.

In other me-related news - we've got 4 days of holiday for the Eid, and I have nowhere to go. I feel decidedly pouty about it. I've got half a mind to go to the travel agency tonight and just bloody FIND a flight to Cyprus or Prague or Greece or Turkey or somewhere and go for a long weekend on my own. Damn it.

Mostly lurking...

Timelies!

Oh, wow. SUCH cutie patooties we have here! Thanks moms and dads for sharing all the wonderful halloween pictures. Maidengurl, how'd your kids get so grown up?

Today's going to be a crazy day. I've got lab, then a meeting with the Independent Study professor, therapy, then an appointment with my shrink. It'll be nice to get home tonight! Of course, then I have to finish all of my homework for tomorrow!
