Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Franny did a bit of trick or treating at daycare (for healthy treats, oh well) but I didn't want to send her to school in her costume, so she just wore a pumpkin hat.

yes, there will be pictures. eventually.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

annabel wishes to be a top gun. parents are so slow.

That'd be something, if the girl whose mom won't climb a ladder grows up to be a fighter pilot.

When Dylan gets home from work, we're going to put her in her costume, take pictures, and go to our immediate neighbors' houses for trick-or-treating. That's enough Halloween for her age, IMO.

ETA and then I'm meeting the only one of my IRL CPs who can make this week's meeting to discuss whether I can actually ignore part of the advice Mary Balogh gave me. She gave me brilliant advice, on the whole, but I feel like if I followed all of it, my lovely Jack would be way too much of a Samwise Gamgee type. And while I love Sam, Jack was never meant to match up with that particular trope.

Thrive to spite them

I have no candy so there are no trick or treaters at my house.

On the way home I passed several houses that had tables in the yards with jack o lanterns and adults in costume and kids going to the tables. I didn't investigate but it looks like everyone was taking the party outside instead of just being in the house.

Since I don't really know my neighborhood I wasnt' sure what was going on, it's time I started walking for social reasons and look at joining the Neighborhood association.

And to prove that I don't limit my obsessions to Annabel's speech....

The mail just arrived. No rejections from any of the four agents who have the queries and/or partials I sent them week before last. I await each day's mail with a kind of dreadful anticipation (rejections=boo! but once I receive them I get to move down to the next person on my list, which feels more productive than waiting), and I charge toward the phone every time its long distance ring sounds just in case it's an agent calling to request a full.

And as each day's mail brings nothing but the normal assortment of bills, credit card offers, and instructions on how I should vote on sundry ballot initiatives, I go into full-on analysis mode about What This All Means: Are my queries yet unopened? Or have they been opened, rejected, and stacked on the secretary's desk waiting for her to have time to generate form letters? Surely if they'd read and liked they would've already requested more materials by now....

Etc. ad infinitum, despite the fact my CP who just landed an agent after several requests for a full assured me there was no obvious correlation between time elapsed before a response and the content of that response.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Leif will end up with Kara.

And then the world will end, but very amusingly.

A funny apocalypse!

My Buffista Sprog OTPs thus far:

Kara and Leif
Lili and Aidan
Emma and Owen

So many others up in the air... Sister of Owen, Benno, Benno's sister (who's name I'm blanking on), Ellie, Mal (well, Ellie and Mal would work in the well-traveled way), Franny, Issac... I'm forgetting some. Who would be worthy of Emaryn, the ORIGINAL tcbitw? It's a quandry I say.
