Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

FTR, I moderately enjoyed Dire Straits.

I mean, that's some fine album-oriented rock there.

Contradiction in terms, that.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I pretty much like everything Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler have done, including Brothers in Arms.

Romeo & Juliet?

It's also been covered by the Indigo Girls.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I love Brothers in Arms Joan Baez did a gorgeous cover of it some years ago, which is where I heard it first, I think.

I bought an album by Melissa Ferrick on CD Baby today, because they told me she was great. I hope they didn't lie to me.

I didn't go to the party. My feet hurt too much to get up, and I think I will have to institute a special feet-stretching regemine. Argh. I hate getting old!

She is pretty great. Which CD, 'suela?

My only affection for Dire Straits is that they provided fodder for a hilarious Weird Al Yankovich video.

Gas prices are currently $2.40-ish in Memphis and I filled up for $2.21 last night in Arkansas. Peaks were around the $3.20 mark. The USA Today reported record profits for the oil companies and the possibility of a federal investigation into price gouging.

Have low-grade headache. Tension, I think. Though it was triggered by red wine, so it's hard for me to tell, but it doesn't feel as hard as migraines used to hit me. The pain is just hovering there on the not too strong edges, but it's come with scent and light sensitivity and a touch of nausea, so there is that. It's kicking my ass, but it doesn't FEEL like it should be able to do that. Fuck.

Maybe it's just a baby migraine? The auras and light sensitivity are sometimes all I have to tell one from a regular headache.

It could be. I keep hoping tension, because then maybe the tylenol will make it go away, and I can't take anything stronger (even if I had anything stronger in the house). But I don't feel like, if only I could gouge my brain out with a fork, I'd feel better!

Grr. Hulk smash head.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

One important thing to note about the fabric store is that among its rich and gorgeous brocades, perfect for corsets, it has a particularly lush gold brocade with little twisty viney shapes and Japanese characters and, my hand to God, Hello Kitty faces. Some Buffista needs this brocade, I'm certain. (If anyone's willing to commit, I'll happily trot back, buy some and ship it.)

I think I've finally experienced the vapors.

Day 1 of the 2006 F2F. Hell, I may go there from the airport.
