Two pairs cuffed trousers (lined even!) and a purple sweater thing were purchased. I saw a couple pair of shoes in Naturalizer that I really liked, but I had run out of patience at that point.

Home, went ruthlessly through closet. 1 large old navy bag, 3 target bags full. I didn't even touch the shoes yet.

So that's good. I hang on to a lot of junk clothes for wearing at home. And the thing is, I do wear them. So they stay, but are better organized.

Next up, manicure. After steak, though.

Exciting, no?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Last time I fainted (so not a one time thing) I went straight to my GP, who sent me to an ENT, who made me get an MRI, and they weren't very worried. GP was basically "Well, it happens to some people."

He did suggest I see a neurologist anyway, which is why I am.

As for the medication -- if it is because of it, it's a periodic (fuck I hate the way my brain loses words after a faint) flushing or something. I take Imitrex all the time, sadly. The amount of Imitrex/whatevers I've taken this past week -- I've taken that much without incident many times before. What does stand out, however, is the recalcitrant intensity of the headache that preceded it. The last time I fainted was after a real doozy.

I wasn't lying down for the last little bit, because I was running errands. On the upside, I'm more pampered than I was before, because I have plantain, curried goat, Ting, British apple pies and comics. On the downside I'm freaking exhausted and will be napping intermittently until the H'ween party.

Are you working the padded headgear into your halloween costume?

Well, there is a wig. Hopefully that will suffice as protection.

And the party's at the centre -- most of the floors are lightly padded. And lots of people trained in first aid.

You know, I realize it is really distressing, but the hypothesis that the fainting episode is some sort of flushing or reset mechanism after bad migraines is intriguing.

I need to remember to toss my old wool dresscoat in with the other stuff. I have no idea why I've been carting it around all this time, given it I haven't been able to button it across my chest since 1994. But it keeps getting moved.
