They screwed up the first cyborg-dolphin-junkie by trying to film Johnny Mnemonic. The short story is much, much better. And even details how the Navy "trains" them--just give them heroine and they'll do anything you want.

I was thinking that NV would be more fun, but maybe the desert weirdness has been done before, with Roswell....
