Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I have a sudden craving for black bean soup. Anyone have a good, easy, quick recipe???

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Chimps either selfish or stupid, scientists say.

Oh -- speaking of recipes, does anyone have a good tomato sauce recipe (for pasta) that doesn't involve bacon? My good one turns out to be quite dependent on the pigflesh.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

1. Open can of black beans.

2. Pour some straight into a saucepan; take a wooden spoon and smush the rest (still in the can so you don't have to dirty an extra bowl) into a beany paste, dump into the saucepan.

3. Add chopped onions or dried onion flakes if you're lazy, cilantro if you're into that sort of thing, a pinch or two of chili powder, and a tiny drab of sherry.

4. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

5. Top with sour cream or super-tangy plain yogurt or whatnot.

6. Consume.

It's not great black bean soup, but it's fast, relatively un-effortful (except for the beans-in-the-can smooshing, which can be therapeutic if you've had a crap day), and perfectly adequate.

But furry pink batwings sound like a wise investment. Where are they for sale?

Yep. They were very cute. I didn't invest in them, but I wanted them desperately.

I need a costume for school. I think I should go as Miss Alanieus and just put a random collection of crap on a cape and a pageant ribbon

hip deep in pie

I fell in love with a pair of purple velvet and satin high heel pointy toes slides today. I would own them now, but I haven't worn high heels since high school, and all scenarios where I imagined myself wearing them ended in the ER.

ER would be bad. I'm looking for saddle shoes.

eBay has some bass ones on BIN. I can't remember what size you wear. 6? 5?
