Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I finally called the landlord about my heat not being on (I pay for it) after it being under 50 degrees in my house last night. The cat and I huddled under the covers together all night. His (the cat's) ears were freezing.

What is vaguely troubling is that there is only one heat run in the apartment (in the hallyway, and not very much heat comes out of it. It is now up to about 60 (which is actually what I keep it set at),but I have now turned it all the way up to see if any more heat comes out. I think I should have the optionof it being more than 60 degrees in the hallyway which translates to god knows what in the rest of the house.

Also, I have just noticed that there is a part of the heat that says "Hot- ne touchez pas" But it is not hot at all. In faxt there seems to be cold ar coming out of that part....

hip deep in pie

I had the day off today, and it was surprisingly productive. My house still looks like a bomb hit it, but I've done six loads of laundry, changed the bedding, made chilli, sorted out the paper recycling and did all that banking stuff earlier today.

The thing about days off for me is that they just make me want more days off.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You're in California. Mooahhaha! There has to be some price for that lifestyle.

JohnSweden=definitely NOT the nice one.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I had last Thursday and Friday off, and since Dad came up on Friday to hang (we saw Good Night and Good Luck), I cleaned on Thursday night/Friday morning. Oh, my, did it need it, and oh, my, does it look gooood now! (My bedroom is still a bit messy--I just shut the door when Dad showed up.) I also got five loads of wash/six of drying done, and all put away.

A definite sense of accomplishment on Saturday morning, when I had everything done and was able to have me time.

Happy birthday, Kate P!

I've spent the last two hours getting files saved for revision, when it occurred to me why they hadn't been revised already. Sure enough, they had been taken care of last year and had never been updated in the damn reporter!! Grrr. I'm calling the editor tomorrow to let her know that maybe she should be checking her 2004 folders instead of bitching to me that I missed revisions, because I know I told her about the 2004 files in April of 2004, when I fixed them.

I can't even.

Correct. This shouldn't be news, though.

Finished my butter chicken. Now watching Closer. Never seen it before. It isn't helping my Natalie Portman crush one bit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Kate!!

Gorgeous pictures, Maria!!

Hope things are OK, Laura!!

I just realized I don't know if I have anything to wear tomorrow for Project Makeover Transformation (they "don't do makeovers"). Good thing my persona is "badly-dressed student."

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happy Birthday, Kate!

Allyson, I hope a publisher recognizes your talent soon and then you can tell that one editor to eat it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Happy Birthday, Kate P!

And Allyson, I'm with David and everyone else who thinks you write fab. Because you do, and you're funny and have interesting stories to tell, and I'm certain someone will agree with us (because we are Buffistas and therefore hardly ever wrong), and then the rest of the world will learn your fabulosity as well.

Can I go home now?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And Allyson, I am now picturing the future you doing the snooty-store scene from Pretty Woman, except with publishers. "Big mistake. Huge."
