But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This really ticked me off.

JD Salinger's doing Amazon reviews now?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Yep, that CS Lewis guy is all about the product placement....

To Kill a Mockingbird (1960)

“I don’t see why this book is so fabulous. I would give it a zero. I find no point in writing a book about segregation, there’s no way of making it into an enjoyable book. And yes I am totally against segregation.”

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Having never read The Sun Also Rises, I kind of love that review. And RE the Turkish Delight, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was when I got a chance (as an adult) to eat some. Edmund, really! That was not worth selling your soul.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Turkish Delight sucks!

I was imagining something like truffles, wrapped in caramel or something.

Also this comment on The Grapes of Wrath (1939) does pretty much sum up how I feel about The Old Man and the Sea, if you substitute salt water and fishing for dirt and migrating.

“While the story did have a great moral to go along with it, it was about dirt! Dirt and migrating. Dirt and migrating and more dirt.”

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hec, what is your tag from?

Lord of the Flies (1955)

Author: William Golding

“I am obsessed with Survivor, so I thought it would be fun. WRONG!!! It is incredibly boring and disgusting. I was very much disturbed when I found young children killing each other. I think that anyone with a conscience would agree with me.”

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I would like to coin a new phrase. The new phrase is: Internet Aspergers.

This is reserved for people who may have social skills in RL, but on the 'net, have no sense of people around them, have no ability to sense sarcasm, irony, or subtext in the written word, if it is posted online.

I'm certain this is a diagnosable condition warranting further study.

Would anyone like to give me a grant?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'll give you a grant if you go after the Sony people re: my Mad About You dvd's.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was very much disturbed when I found young children killing each other. I think that anyone with a conscience would agree with me.

Because obviously, anyone who likes the book is in favor of children killing each other.

Yes, because the only reason to include anything in a book/movie/tv show is because the author is 100% in favor of it. Didn't you get the Parents' Television Council memo?
