Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Fun read!

And now it's going to make my day more painful because it has provided an example of good and entertaining reading and now I have to go back to reading really really really badly written, boring articles and trying to pry data from their ungrammatical tangles.

Or I could just goof off for an hour.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Does anyone here watch The West Wing?

I do, but I'm still catching up from the 2 weeks I was gone. I'll get back to you on that line....

Allyson, I read the sample piece, and I cannot WAIT to read the book!

Ditto. Teppy and I are of one mind.

A Teppy thumb up!

And my thumb *isn't* up in that bizarre Punjabi way, either.

t edit Which, of course, would be *down,* not up. (Me = dum.)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Allyson, the sample piece is wonderful. I want to read the rest of the book now now now.

Trust my rage

Sophia, according to TWoP, it was a joke. I guess I missed that part. WW is sort of hard to watch that way.

Also, Allyson, I loved the sample piece!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have to let someone go today. And it was totally my decision, but he is a new hire and the background check turned up some sketchy stuff, so...

He's a very nice guy, so it's going to be not fun.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I think I am becoming slap-happy, because this sentance, in a document for adult medical professionals travelling to Puerto Rico, is making me laugh and laugh. It just sounds so, well, dumb.

Try not to look like a tourist and leave your camera on a beach towel while you swim.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

as sort of a jacked up quick tailoring?

Language note: Emmett has taken to saying "jacked up" as euphemism for "Fucked up." This was not current during my youth, and I thought "effed up" had taken a commanding lead.

Please verify with anecdotes your observation of this trend, or deny it utterly, or display indifference.

Don't make us give you an extraordinarily proud thumbs-down.

Heh!

There really needs to be an entire movie based upon this flag lowering ceremony. Or a Monty Python sketch. Or a Daily Show Special Report.

Baby Panda pile! I...I want to roll around amongst them! They'd probably bite, huh?

brillig

Seeing that Hurricaine Wilma is possibly heading for Florida, where are all the people saying huffily, "Why do people live in a state where hurricaines hit all the time? Why should we pay for people who live on the coasts of Florida? We should make them move"?

t sick of people saying New Orleans shouldn't be rebuilt
