Hubby's likes medical shows, so we're trying GA. We find it painful, and are hoping it stops being a soap opera. Any chances of that, or are we supposed to care that these folks keep having emotional meltdowns over patients?

Our wings are not tired.

Woo Hoo White Sox!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's a soap opera on purpose, connie. I doubt it'll change. Of course, The OC used to be funny, so there's always a chance.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No chance. It's a human drama that takes place in a hospital, not a medical show. It's General Hospital at night.

OK, here's a random question. The grad school people say we should have business cards for networking or some shit. Should I really? And should it actually say "Candidate for blah blah degree, expected May 2006"? That just seems so super dorky to me. Anyone have any experience with such things?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Stupid White Sox. How many home runs do they have to hit before somebody admits that "Ozzieball" is actually just good pitching and hitting? Bunting the runner over my flat white fanny.

On the upside for us eggheads, there is a good chance it will be a World Series of pitching duels, if the Astros clinch tomorrow. On the downside for everybody else, pitching duels are incredibly boring unless you are an egghead. Then again, Chicago in the World Series? There could be a riot. That would keep the TV ratings up.

Now the important question: who will be umpiring this event? And how big a police escort will they need?

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Somebody else brought it up! The OC has let me down.

Actually, the only thing on network TV that is really working for me this year is Surface.

Things that are working for me this year (not counting my personal reality TV fixes):

Lost, Criminal Minds, CSI, Supernatural (when I can catch it), possibly Threshold (when I can catch it).

West Wing has been hovering on my personal chopping block for two seasons, but keeps surprising me enough to let it stay. It just did it again tonight.

Our wings are not tired.

The OC was fun for a while, but I think I only saw 4-5 eps last year and none this year.

Surface! My son is enjoying that. I watched a couple, but haven't felt the love.

It is probably a good thing that I find so little teevee entertaining these days. Also, really pleased that so much good stuff is available on DVD for my viewing pleasure when convenient.

At this point I'm watching Lost and SciFi. Although I expect to be watching Veronica Mars real time before too long. Unless something after 1.4 pisses me off.

Oh yeah! Sci-Fi. Battlestar Galactica is really working for me this season, but I don't get cable, and am only catching up an BSG when the tape fairie catches up. Now I have to wait until after January for more.

I really wanted Threshold to work out. However, Charles Dutton is wreaking it for me.
