Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

Always Anti-fascist!

I like it. Makes me think of Mafia movies. Dean Martin, too. I wonder what he would think about that...whether he would think it was funny or get put out that songs like that make me think..."I know this one. Goodfellas! Right?"

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I did 5 hours of work at the coffee shop, bored out of my ever-loving mind. I don't think there's anything worse than editing a document that is full of the same damn copy-and-paste errors, over and over and over again. And I didn't finish, but see above, re: bored.

I stopped at the bookstore on the way home to order Rachel Manija Brown's All the Fishes Come Home to Roost (some of y'all may know her from LJ), and they have a signed copy in the back they will unpack for me tomorrow, so yay.

And it's sunny out and when I opened my mail I found an invitation to a launch party for a city-funded book I got a piece accepted to. My first launch party! (Okay, so the piece is all of 1,500 words, but still!) ::throws tinsel in the air::

Now I'm going to take a nap. And then have tea.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Thanks, Robin, I'll suggest she think along those lines.

yay Consuela!

And birthday Kristen!

( I kinda wish these things silently, to avoid empty otherwise posts. But hey, I have content!)

My cats don't like wet carpet. They start to walk on it, get this weird look on their faces, then back up to skirt the edges. I've got fans blowing on it, but I hope it dries quickly. Have the a/c and dehumidifier running, but a, wearing long sleeves, pants and a sweater bathrobe. Kinda chilly.

See? Content.

I broke down and washed my hair for the third time today. First was wakeup shower. Must have. Second was salon. Third...apparently aveda products are still giving me headaches. Which is sad, because I like the smell, just...not for more than a couple hours. I can deal with lavender (one of the main smelly components, I think, and one I use at home without problems) but something else in them just is a nasty trigger of some sort.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I walked all over the city today with the parents, which was good, but now I'm EXHAUSTED, due also to not nearly enough sleep last night. But it was fabulous weather, and we had a lovely time, even though we failed to get the cheap Wicked tickets. Also found the perfect midtown afternoon snack place that I really really hope I remember about the next time I have that issue.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What is the official Vatican policy towards aliens? Independent Catholic News tackles the issue: [link]

In: Intelligent Life in the Universe? Catholic belief and the search for extraterrestrial intelligent life, author Guy Consolmagno SJ, asks:

Would humans recognise intelligent life if we saw it? Could we communicate with it? Should we even try? Is Original Sin something that affects all intelligent beings? Is Jesus Christ's redemption valid for intelligent beings throughout the universe? or would other worlds have their own version of Jesus? Would the Church send missionaries to ET planets?
