What is even happening?

Toothma, Tom.

Allyson, the pop-up book is incredible. I like the little Caldecottish sticker you put on the front, too.

I just caught up with about 250 posts, so I will just say I had a real problem with crying at work. I never cried if I was sad, or hurt. I cried when I was angry. I didn't sob. I didn't bawl. But my eyes would well up, and my voice would be all chokey. Finally, I just told people, "Look, you know how pepper makes you sneeze? Anger makes me cry. I have to just talk through it and it will go away. Please don't be nice to me about it, or I will cry more." It was embarrassing. It also was, for me, a reflex.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

New Yorkers are cute about the rain.

What is even happening?

It's been raining/rainy/about-to-rain/just-tapering-off-from-a-bit-of-rain, all week. I kind of love it, but I'm the only one in my family who does.

NEW JERSEY IS FLOODING. Or at least that's what I think I keep hearing on the news.

I think it isi supposed to clear out of here for the weekend. I have not seen the sun since the wednesday before last. Or maybe it was the tuesday. It is insanemaking.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

New Hampster is flooding as well, there have even been a couple Darwinesque deaths by ill-timed choices to drive over flooded bridges, et cetera.

Hey, LA was flooding when we got called on it here.

It might be possible that I'm a grudge holder.

If only my memory worked on useful stuff.

All I know is that it smells like wet dog all the time. Which is what happens after a few days of wet here. Where it doesn't smell like wet dog, it smells like glue factory or fish, beer and piss.

It's not charming.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Thanks for the nice things you guys say. I'm all happy and shit.
