Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Somewhere I heard an explanation on how to pronounce several different languages by varying the amount of phlegm in the back of one's throat....

Some intonations/accents I can do. Heck, I fooled a german 3 years after I last was fluent (got outed when I started using czech and then swearing in english.) I'm told my spanish and french accents were passable when I spoke them regularly around native speakers.

Of course, I can also sound whatever variety of southern or midwestern if I'm around those speakers long enough. Less talent, more impressionable.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

My AC just died. I resent that it should even matter at this time of the year.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Bon Bon, that sounds great.

Plei, something got here, but the post office wouldn't leave it, so I have to go get it tomorrow morning.

That sucks, amych.

Kristen, did you get your shirt?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Stopped by krav, realised I was having difficulty keeping my eyes open, picked up some paperwork, came home.

The Post Office isn't really delivering my mail. I had it put on hold from the 9th to the 17th, and I've gotten mail only one day this week. Which means a visit to their lovely offices tomorrow.

Sadly, no, Perkins. They were going to get it, in between the movie and the party, but then we all got herded and there was no chance. They said they would mail it to me today on their way out of town so I'll probably get it tomorrow.

My Welsh friend laughed like a drain whenever I tried to say Llanelli--which is where he is from. It apparently has a "th" sound in there somewhere but I'm damned if I can find it.

I think that with Welsh, you make the double-L sound by sort of putting the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and blowing as you make the L sound. Which would sound kind of like a "th".

But this is a dim memory from The Dark is Rising, and my memory sometimes lies to me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh well. I'm sure you will have it soon.

It was probably all for the best. Trying to keep track of my drink, my smoke and my food all at once was bad enough. I think had I added a prezzie into the mix, something would have been lost. Or possibly set on fire.

And I completely forgot to set my DVR last night. I need to hunt down season premieres now.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Aw... The Dark is Rising! I should reread that.

In my copious spare time, of course.

ARGH. I couldn't nap though I'm falling down tired. And before I pick up The Culture of Fear or Constructing Crime, or my light reading on Serial Killers (you'd love this class, Kristen! I just read an article called "Cultural Development of Monsters, Demons and Evil"), I should put my car in the garage.
