IIRC, there have been multiple cases before the SCOTUS concerning whether the state can compel parents to give their children medical treatment that goes against their religious beliefs. Specifically, there was a case where Christian Science parents were charged with neglect because they refused to take their child to a doctor, and the child subsequently died.
Found it. I was wrong. It was a bowel obstruction, not strep. The child, age two, was Robyn Twitchell. The parents were convincted of involuntary manslaughter. There's more information about the case, here:

So, I'm trying to decide if I should keep my platelet donation appointment tomorrow, due to having this cold. It's not a
bad
cold, and I'm honestly still not 100% convinced it's not just allergies, but I'd hate to give a cold to someone who's already in the hospital! Bleh.
If you have a cold, they don't want you. They're going to ask you if you're feeling well when you show up; don't waste their time.
I was onboard with Maher's photo being listed next to "pretty" in the dictionary from day one, but I like how he's casual enough in that shot that what I'd like to do to him wouldn't seem to be a cause for impropriety.

I know. It just feels like such a waste if it's actually allergies. I guess if I'm still sniffly in the morning, I cancel. Sniffly for two days is probably cold-not-allergies, right?
I DON'T KNOW!!
Anyway, that Katie Holmes sure looks preggo: [link]

Can you transmit it through platelets?
That ain't no three months.
Damn baseball. I had known that it was pre-empting Fox programs, but that didn't seem to keep me from anticipating Prison Break and Arrested Development all day.
