When we got home from church, Ausmus had just hit the tying homer. Since then, Annabel has eaten and taken a two-hour nap, had a diaper change, and been reunited with her mother.
And Julio Franco was only 41.
I am totally irate. I'm also glaring at the small gang of young men who hang out on the steps of the house across the street 18 hours a day. Either they did it, or they saw it.
I found my work light dangling over the garage-door hinges, which I guess means they snuck in and used that to find their way around the garage without turning on the light -- not that anyone in my neighborhood would have noticed or cared. I'm kind of shocked I didn't notice anything last night when I came home, except that some wood had been knocked over: I figued I'd just bumped it with the car.
I feel dumb, and lucky, and stupid, and angry, and a little scared. So glad they didn't break into the house.
7:00 is good, ita. I'll swing by to pick you up.
Suela, that totally sucks.
The Astros manager, Phil Garner, played in the 16 inning game in '86.
That sucks Consuela. I am glad they didn't go farther though.
Eighteen.
To the 18th.
Not only did Garner play, but so did Julio Cruz (1st base coach). And Nolan Ryan is in the crowd -- he couldn't pitch in the 16-inning game because he'd thrown into the 10th a day before.

I looked up the game. Houston only used 5 pitchers, and the Mets only used 4. They used relievers differently back then.
Ooh, the non-firstbaseman couldn't scoop up the throw.
