"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

"Entertainment Tonight" has a statement from Nick Lachey's people saying that it is not true he and Jessice are breaking up.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful sentences in the English language:

Scientists have taught dolphins to combine both rhythm and vocalisations to produce music, resulting in an extremely high-pitched, short version of the Batman theme song.

By the end of the studies, the scientists could show an object, such as the Batman doll, which represented a certain rhythm-vocalisation combo to the dolphin, and it would create the correct sounds both vocally and using the switch.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's just mean of them not to include an mp3 with that article. [ha! xpost]

What is even happening?

When I politely indicated my disinterest and said that I was just trying to escape the stress of my office for a few minutes, she asked if I wanted to pray with her.

I think I prefer getting harangued by Jehovah.

How did you refrain from saying, "Jehovah comes by here regularly. Why would I go through you?"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

handed me a pamphlet titled, " So Who Is This Jesus, Anyway?"

Actually, you should have told her that Jesus looks like French-Canadian actor Roy Dupuis.

Probably it's because they're afraid that some hiphop artist will sample it, and the legalities as to whether dolphins are entitled to royalties haven't been settled yet.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."
