Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My impression is that no, your organization does not use its membership "expressively", whereas the Scouts do.

Interesting. I wonder if some of the touchy feeling corps that blossomed in the 90s that give their employees twee designations are being expressive, or if when it comes down to the paperwork it's just a semantic dance.

I didn't think of Sally Ann as expressive in that way, but I do know precious little about them.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I try not to get upset about brontosauruses and Pluto since, ultimately, the eight year olds are right-- pandas ARE bears.

What is even happening?

bon bon, I found this [link] which discusses the case. It's over year old, though. I have no idea whether or not the site or piece is objective.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

What's Sally Ann?

It only discusses the allegations, not the actual decisions, but it looked to me that it would answer many people's questions about the case. It doesn't talk about expressive association, however, so I was probably wrong to assume that.

Speaking of things legal, has anyone else looked at this? [link]

(Here's the actual draft)

Apparently the Indiana legislature wants to make it illegal for homosexual or single people to use artificial insemination. 'Cause that's . . . any of their business?

Heh. I checked to see if ohhellno.com was a website, just for the hell of it. Their 403 error message is sort of demandy.

error 403: Forbidden!

The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated.

Sally Ann? Salvation Army. No idea where I got that from.

I keep thinking of Sally Mae, which is a loan program. Sally Ann may have been a nickname for the stores at one time, though.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
