Okay, the bit in KC where BC leans back at the table when they're out at the bar and Seth is hitting on the airheaded chick. It's such a marvellously sexy look. He's such a naughty boy.

So we watched KC for the first time . Fun. A tad predictable, but DH found it rather true , if milder than a real kitchen. Kind of curious where this episode fit with other episodes-- better, worse or about the same?
The kitchen stuff was a little milder this time. You missed the episode where they had to search through everyone's food for part of a chef's finger.
how is it determined when during the year Ramadan will fall?
Wikipedia on the Islamic calendar: [link]
and on Ramadan: [link]
There are regional variations:
During one memorable year during the AH 1380s (the 1970s AD), different Muslim countries ended the fast of Ramadan on each of four successive days.
There's always going to be an issue out there.
Yes, but I think that's good. Part of the whole "democracy" thing, and how Americans own their government, (or believe they do) rather than sitting back and letting the government tell them how it is.
Of course, it's generally that "There's always going to be an issue out there," which is what some political scientists use to say that America is a uni-party nation. Americans in general want the same things, but they always tend to focus on one big issue and split into camps about it. Right now it's abortion, with a side of gay rights. If the abortion thing became a non-issue, gay rights would probably move to the forefront, with, I dunno, global warming or the Iraq War as the side dish.
Happy New Year!
What I've heard instead of master/slave is parent/child, which expresses the relationship in a non-sexist, less charged manner.
Jaguar cub, as well as performing goat with cute monkey rider, are very cool pictures indeed.
Is the issue with "master/slave" because of the sexual meaning or because of the black slavery meaning?
Master/Apprentice? Boss/Peon? Bert/Ernie? Frodo/Sam (or Sam/Frodo)? Buffy/Spike?
King/Pawn?
But the master drive doesn't control the slave drive. The controller controls them both -- the master drive is the one that, on the primary controller, is the bootable drive. And the one that the OS assigns the first letter/whatever designation.
The terms master/slave are wrong. If you're going to bother changing it (which I still think is overreaction -- the words master and slave are not barbs, just descriptors -- if they'd been called master and nigra, or something, I'd get it), there's no point maintaining the false relationship.
Primary and secondary is about it.
