Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

In fact, Nic Cage could have gone by Nic Coppola (his real name), but he indeed did adopt the "Cage" last name because he was a fan of Luke Cage, Hero for Hire -- and also because that way, most fans/casting agents wouldn't immediately associate him with his famous family.

Sure, but then two of his first big movies were directed by Unca Frank.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How about these: [link]

Edit: I take it back, I didn't see the bit about brown trim.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm scouring the web for reaction to the Miers nomination.

What I'm confused about is, why didn't Bush nominate someone far-right, possibly anti-abortion, etc. Many conservatives were spoiling for a filibuster-fight with the Dems. Instead, Bush has pissed off many of his supporters.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

SUKKAH DEPOT! YOUR ONE STOP FOR SUKKOT AND (something else beginning with an S I forget.)

Simchat Torah? It comes at the end of Sukkot.

You will not be surprised to hear that there is no Sukkah Depot in the Carolinas.

Punishingly Intricate

hey Techie types, I was just told to come up with an alternate term for Master/Slave (for some documents we worked on for months and just published last week...grrrr). All I can find (in an admittedly brief search) was stuff about the controversy of coming up with alternate terms for Master/Slave. Lots of outraged programmers or whatever decrying political correctness. I couldn't find any actual suggestions for alternatives. It's very frustrating. Does anybody have any ideas?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

although I honestly pity "true" conservatives who support Bush only because of the possibility of setting the next generations's Court agenda and were royally fucked by this.

I can't say as I do. I find the nomination a bit baffling however because I can't see what the political gain is for Bush.

Dom/sub? Master/Apprentice?

Yeah, I've heard about the controvesy - I can't come up with anything either.

Somepeople don't like the term 'motherboard' either.
