It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

We were headed home last night at around 6:30 and when the sun hit the smoke line, the sun looked bright red. Then it got blocked out completly. We're too far away to get any ash but we could faintly smell it. Very scary.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

msbelle, the store on 23rd St isn't too far from work, is it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I need to make a call, but the iPod is holding me hostage. Keeps playing music I really like.

Intellectually I understand a) that's because I'm playing the 'highly rated' playlist and b) I'm trying to change my patterns.

But it's HARD.

HR keeps sending out e-mails reminding us that bad smells do not poor air quality make. They must be being hounded.

However, smoke hanging visibly in the air INSIDE do poor air quality make. At my old place, a fire broke out in the mountains a couple of miles away, and no one thought to shut down the air intakes that was pumping all the smoky air directly into the offices.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We have air vents rather close to the loading docks. So, in spite of big signs saying to not park trucks with the motors running next to the vents, we get eau du interstate on a regular basis.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Once, at my very first full time job, the elevators were shut down for no discernible reason. So I took the stairs. The reason got itself discerned, all right -- there was a glue fire in the shoe store that was feeding right into the stairwell. Not only did I get to leave early, I had to go to the ER.

Blech.

Phone call was made. Onto next task.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I haven't done any tasks today. Yay!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've done several tasks today, but I cannot pick a topic for my paper due in a couple of weeks, and it's making me nuts.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I need to start doing tasks.

The air stinks, and it is mildly freaking me out in a neurotic-Westside-mom kind of way. Also the car was covered in ashes this morning. Weird.
