For some reason, my Tivo didn't record the OC last night. Did anything happen that would make me care?

No. But at least several obvious things were revealed. I.e., Jeri Ryan is just a regular scam artist, Mr. Dean of Discipline and what's her name were making out, and Marisa's new school has three friends just like Summer, Seth, and her, except the "her" is a guy. But he's just regular, not a Bad Boy.

Re the OC: All I could think of with Marissa's new school was the episode of Seinfeld where Elaine starts hanging around with new people, just like Jerry, George and Kramer. I was all, "Man they're stealing from Seinfeld." And it wasn't even funny.

Also, Summer doesn't have a camera phone? Please?

Why can't they use Seth and Summer to their full advantage? Just because they are together doesn't make them have to be boring. And a very small part of the show. They are much better actors than Mischa Barton!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wonder if there are people who picked up The OC this season or last and rented the S1 DVDs and hate it because it's all light-hearted and funny.
