Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

ita, past Lindero, it should speed back up. I'm gonna see if I can get info about Las Virgennes.

What is even happening?

Topic!Cindy -- Still part of the Red Sox Nation?

Yes, ma'am.

Oh. I have messages for you, NarrAtor. Mmmm. Lemme check my files. *checks files*

Rachie: I miss NarrAtor muchly, and wish that she were here. Does she know that she doesn't have to pro-actively journalise anything, but can instead kibbitz on everybody else from the sidelines?

Catriona: I've thought several times over the years that I wish Narrator had a Livejournal. She's one of the people I really miss. I hope she comes round. Keep trying!

Clarrie: Tell her to send her all our money, no, wait. That wasn't what I meant at all...

Seska: Now there's someone who would like it here.

The real-time "can ita get through the fire-induced traffic fuck-ups?" reality show is oddly compelling.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, now I'm standing still on Las Virgenes. Now's a good time to think of my past Voltaire tagline. It's much more scenic than the 101. But I think all these cars want to turn on Mulhollhand. Let me get on the hard shoulder.

Uhg. That sucks.

Now we just need someone overseas to start giving you traffic reports and alternate routes for it to be a one of those ridiculous internet experiences.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm something 1400 posts behind, so skipped like a skippy thing, so please accept my apologies if there was a huge discussion already about yesterday's House episode. I missed the end of the episode. Could someone fill me in about what happens after it is announced that the handyman's small finger on his second hand is going dusky ? Thanks much!

There's this stupid ad on tv for a lawfirm. The talking head (I presume one of the partners) is so wooden. I swear, only his mouth moves. And he's so nasal and awkward sounding, I can't see how this drums up business. He isn't bad looking, which makes me wonder if that was why they used him. It's like an anti-hire-us ad.

The other firm that adverts around here, while their ads are TOTALLY calling to the ambulance-chasing stereotype (they even have flashing lights and an AMBULANCE,) are much less offputting.

Why do I even care?

Trust my rage

ita's stuck in traffic and i'm home in my PJs feeding the baby. Time zones are weird.

I love that ita can post from her traffic jam.
