Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

My treat today was a 10% net realized profit on a stock after 17 days. Not as good as last week's 20% net realized profit in 6 days, but a treat nonetheless.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Or sat down for a talking-to.

This is the part I'm dreading, since I'm pretty sure I'll get one.

List your top three accomplishments during the last twelve months:
1 I showed up. Mostly.
2 I did my job. Pretty often.
3 Didn't kill anyone. Yet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, Gud. Can I send you my extra $20?

Dude, you don't get extra money just because you're depressed!

If we did, this past summer would have made me independently wealthy.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I haven't had a treat today. Someone in my office should make a Buttercup Bake Shop run.

My office treat is that I avoided the SARS or whatever that's sent the rest of the production dept. home for at least one day so far this week. Being standoffish and ultra-fastidious about hand washing pays off!

OH! lisah! Am bummed out that you will be playing in the NYC simultaneous to me seeing Serentity.

darn. yeah. I understand. When we got the show my bass player and I were all, "Noooo Serenity opening night!" But the opportunity is working out so well in every other way that we couldn't really pass it up. We're going to have to wait until Saturday night to see the movie. (unless we get up there early enough and find a convenient enough theatre to see it in before we play)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

my bass player and I were all, "Noooo Serenity opening night!"

Hey, at least you have shared ground with your band.

Bon, I liked Prison Break. There was frowning and sweating and violence.

I had duck curry for lunch. It was spicy, basil-filled, and sweet in a good way.

From above: so, cassava = manioc = yucca?

Vegans, though, I have no idea what to cook them. I'd probably just hand them some lentils and the spice rack.

Heh. At least half of the dishes I make with any regularity are vegan by default--not intended as such, just lacking any non-vegan ingredients.

Whoa. I just balanced my checkbook today, and... let's just say it was not such a treat.

Bass player is also my housemate so it works out well! She didn't see the Firefly in first run and so we watched the series (in order!) on dvd this spring and she got completely hooked. She really wants the band to cover the theme. (The other two aren't really into tv at all. But they're pretty agreeable and would probably take a stab at the theme if we really wanted to do it.)
