That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

From above: so, cassava = manioc = yucca?

Vegans, though, I have no idea what to cook them. I'd probably just hand them some lentils and the spice rack.

Heh. At least half of the dishes I make with any regularity are vegan by default--not intended as such, just lacking any non-vegan ingredients.

My treat today was a 10% net realized profit on a stock after 17 days. Not as good as last week's 20% net realized profit in 6 days, but a treat nonetheless.

Whoa. I just balanced my checkbook today, and... let's just say it was not such a treat.

Punishingly Intricate

Hey, at least you have shared ground with your band.

Bass player is also my housemate so it works out well! She didn't see the Firefly in first run and so we watched the series (in order!) on dvd this spring and she got completely hooked. She really wants the band to cover the theme. (The other two aren't really into tv at all. But they're pretty agreeable and would probably take a stab at the theme if we really wanted to do it.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My treat just became joining up with a big ol' group for the Serenity premiere Friday. There'll be dinner (and drinks) before hand and quite possibly more drinks after and, of course, the movie in the middle. It's been ages since I've been to a fannishly big movie with fellow fen.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

My treat to myself is that I'm leaving work early.

To go to the dentist.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

My favorite alteration of this adds a third line:
Dry hands on pants.

I'd forgotten about that one, but definitely of the funny. You see it a lot less often than the 12-year old themed scratch outs, though.

whoever thought tomato sauce should be sweet should be shot, though.

Yes. The cafeteria here at work makes sweet tomato sauce. I've taken to putting salt on any of their italian dishes to try to make up for it, and I normally never put salt on anything except for occaisional french fries (depends on if they need it or not.)

And also: Apple seeds are poisonous; they contain a cyanide compound. However, you'd have to eat apple seeds specifically in quantity to reach critical mass.

I know this due to a G.I. Joe episode where they're lured a giant amoeba creature that was eating everything into an apple orchard to kill it.

Also called "Papa John's".

Ugh. Also, in addition to the sweet sauce, their pizza also tastes peanut buttery to me. So not the flavor I'm looking for in my pizza.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Pity me. I cannot see any movie, not Corpse Bride, not Mirrormask, not Serenity, nothing until this weekend is over. Woe. Truly, I say, this is a tragedy of epic proportions. Woe.

(OTOH, we are opening a "rodeo-porno-circus musical", so life ain't that bad.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

rodeo-porno-circus musical

Does it have monkeys? Because if so, it will be the most perfect thing ever!
