So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

As a lover of the stuff, I don't think there's a point at which I would ever say, "Man, too much basil!"

So I'm still going to blame the sugar, which is probably added because of the sad blandness of the tomatoes in question. Proper tomatoes are sweet enough as it is.

If I only had a brain...

Huh. Quaaludes have been Schedule 1 since 1984. What do people use for downers, then?

Diet. Coke. on. monitor. You have no idea HOW funny that is to me.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I think the problem with a lot of tomato sauces is an over-zealous use of what I'm pretty sure is basil, rather than actual sugar.

The problem with most commercial tomato sauces is that they use tomato paste instead of actual tomatoes as the primary ingredient to save on shipping costs. In Cook's Illustrated taste tests, you can almost always predict the placement of a brand of sauce by looking at where tomato paste shows up in the ingredients list. (Though the results are often reversed in the kids-only tests.)

That's what puts the "driven" in.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

What do people use for downers, then?

Valium is still perfectly legal, and there's a whole class of Valium-oids, whose name I forget. (I know, because I have to take Valium to get in a dentist's chair. I can only get five at a time, but that's partly because I don't, like, go to the dentist every week.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Mmmmm, Valium. "Mother's little helper", indeed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, here's another random thing: I hope in class tonight that everyone else's employment law cases are as fascinating as mine is. I had to find something about discrimination, and people are fascinating, I tell you what. The one I finally picked was about a guy who had a lifelong dream of being a sanitation worker (!!), but has vision problems and got fired because of them.
