Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

'Safe'

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

She looked at me first thing and said "hey, we are dressed alike, I see you got the memo". I just giggled.

::snerk:: Did you archly inform her that NO, *her* shirt is a heavier knit? Heh.

Got my hair cut yesterday, and it's a GREAT cut -- but for some reason my hair never behaves for the first 2 or 3 days after it's cut. Why is that? Is the hair all traumatized from being chopped?

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Morning, All! Very excited to actually be caught up in the AM. And able to participate! Yay!

Haven't meara-ed.

Hugs to any who need them. Also much -ma for those who could use it.

ION, I will be participating in my first Ren Faire with the new Guild this weekend and next. I'm an odd combination of excited mixed with leery, with a big dash of "Am I too old for this?" thrown in for good measure.

I considered explaining the difference between a skirt and capri's, but decided against. Besides, I look twice as fab as she does...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I look twice as fab as she does...

This goes without saying.

Really leaving for class now. Gronk.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oooh, what guild, Epic? And you're not too old.

Signed,

37 and counting

P.S. Our Faire has one metric shitload of 40somethings, a handful of 50s, and one lady who I believe is in her 70s. Also, our absurdly energetic Sir Francis Drake (who's been doing this since the first Northern California Faire back in the 60s or 70s) has got to be well on the far side of 60, bless him.

Oooh, what guild, Epic?

Called House McFionn. 16th century Irish mercenaries. Though it's been long enough since my fencing classes that I'm doing crafts and only participating in the battle as a water-bearer, at least this time out.

And you're not too old.

Thank you, I'm pretty sure you're right. I think it's just because this is yet another example of Something I Would Have Loved To Have Found Ten Years Ago, that's making me feel old. Well, that and every guy in the guild is either married or 10+ years younger than me (or, especially painful, both). But I'm a very youthful 34! Everyone thinks so!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I studied, my essay is done, and I am off to school in a few minutes.

WhooHoo! Knock 'em daid.

34? I roll my eyes forever at you, little chickabiddy.

Irish are fun and rowdy and excellent with the actual living history aspect of it; I'm a slob who's more interested in improv and playing with the audience than anything else, hence I'm a Puritan (and occasionally monger). If you're feeling bold later on and they'll let you out to play around with other guilds, I'd strongly encourage doing a costume swap for a day with a similarly-sized P. or m. if they have 'em at your Faire.

Anyone wish to have an offline discussion about OCD with me? I'm afraid to do a google search, but I have some questions and don't want to hog up board space.

eta - just hit me up at my profile e-mail.

Thanks. I needed that.

Yes, everyone seems quite fun. (And I'm tring to find time to get to Michael's to pick up wooden knitting needles, and having internal debate about whether I could make a pair of chopsticks do the job in a pinch).

Not sure about P's or m's, but there's a band of Pirates who were doing some recruiting at the Mira Mesa Street Faire a few weeks ago. I'm thinking I'll have to do a few wanders by Pirate's Cove and see what they're up to.
