34? I roll my eyes forever at you, little chickabiddy.
Irish are fun and rowdy and excellent with the actual living history aspect of it; I'm a slob who's more interested in improv and playing with the audience than anything else, hence I'm a Puritan (and occasionally monger). If you're feeling bold later on and they'll let you out to play around with other guilds, I'd strongly encourage doing a costume swap for a day with a similarly-sized P. or m. if they have 'em at your Faire.
Anyone wish to have an offline discussion about OCD with me? I'm afraid to do a google search, but I have some questions and don't want to hog up board space.
eta - just hit me up at my profile e-mail.

Thanks. I needed that.

Yes, everyone seems quite fun. (And I'm tring to find time to get to Michael's to pick up wooden knitting needles, and having internal debate about whether I could make a pair of chopsticks do the job in a pinch).

Not sure about P's or m's, but there's a band of Pirates who were doing some recruiting at the Mira Mesa Street Faire a few weeks ago. I'm thinking I'll have to do a few wanders by Pirate's Cove and see what they're up to.
Daniel, add me to both lists. Although you're a better person than me -- when I was checking at work, I just did it at my desk with a quick alcohol wipe over the fingertip in question because my middle name is, in fact, Lazy.
Much ~ma to everyone who needs/wants it -- I've been skimming. I feel like I'm incredibly busy, but not enough stuff is getting done, and the living room still looks like a dog hair/baby toy bomb went off.

I'm 34, too--will be 35 in January--and I'm planning to take up reenacting as soon as I can afford to do so. I'm amazed I didn't fall into it years earlier, given my particular flavor of geekdom, but I don't intend to let age deter me.
When we get back to Michigan, I'm gonna do the Civil War reenactments, too. But mostly cause I like the dressing up part.

Definitely a huge plus for the whole deal. Thankfully no hoopskirts in 1582.
I love hoopskirts. Love love love em. If I wasn't such a conformist and trendy like, I'd wear em everyday.
Just ran into ALP. She was wearing the fugliest boots!
I'm still going to hell.

You should hang with Jilli more. Start your own trend, while following a master.
