Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Oh yeah, there are other places to do it, it's just the kitchen has the nice clean sink and water and soap to wash my hands first.

The men's room has a urinal three feet from the sinks, and no place to perch the stuff, anyway.

That's why I said I'm of mixed mind. I can do without the kitchen, and buy more alcohol wipes.

What is even happening?

Do they have any other place, Daniel? I completely understand not liking to perform the test in a common bathroom.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Daniel, if this is a health issue, aren't they obligated to help you find a place where you can to the tests in a sanitary manner? I'd go back to HR and drop the problem back on their plate, or at least get them to offer up some suggestions.

brillig

Hubby was awake enough to chat this morning when I got up. He said I must have interesting dreams. Apparently I "walk", I reach for things, and I wave my fists around. The only word he's ever heard me say clearly was "stick." It's probably just as well I don't enunciate in my sleep, he doesn't need to know about those dreams about Billy Idol.

move out and draw fire

Heh.

The DH and I both dreamed I was pregnant last night. I desperately hope this is one of those dream symbols that means something else entirely, like my paycheck is about to clear or something.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Timelies.

I had interesting dreams that were very involved stories. I'm not functional enough to describe them, and it would probably bore everyone, but I think they came from one of Nick's old girlfriend's calling me last night for advice about what it meant that she has a crush on one of her female friends, and me over the course of the last few days thinking about faith and magical thinking and why the two are different and why it matters.

Aidan and Kara are home from school today. Aidan didn't sleep at all well last night, and since yesterday was swimming, and he was frightened by it, I think he was just feeling overwhelmed. He's been coming to me for many hugs.

I had a sudden radical realization a little bit ago. I occasionally watch "Designed to Sell" where fixer-uppers come in and redesign a house with $2000.00 so that it will sell for more than it would otherwise, and one of the things that the "real estate expert" they use says often is, "what is this room for? I see no clear purpose." That popped into my head this morning as I was trying to figure out how to fit everything in here that we need with 3 kids, 4 cats and two computer loving freaks, and I realized that if I really focus on the purpose of each room, I think I can organize it better and make our house look less like a big clutter bomb went off. I am anxious to make it work, though I doubt it will happen today. I'm going to work on planning first, and then do it slowly over the next week.

I'm of mixed mind on it. One part of me wants to say "oh well" the other part of me feels a bit militant, wanting the right for my own health issue.

I'm with the people who say you should drop it in HRs lap. I don't know if diabetes falls under the ADA, but they should be able to make reasonable accomodations for your needs. If that means a separate place to do your sticking and a means to dispose safely of the stick needle, it should be provided. I know at least one of the women's restrooms at my company has that on the wall next to the sinks. I'm not sure if all the bathrooms have been similarly equipped, but at least the ability to do it in a clean, (semi)private environment has been arranged.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I think it does, as far as reasonable accomodations are concerned.

Hi there. waves at peeps
