You got fired, and you still hang around here like a big loser. Why can't he?

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Folks at the A's blog have nicknamed our rookie pitcher, Joe Blanton, Cupcakes. He's a little on the portly side and there was a picture of him early in the season captioned, "Yes, I will have that last cupcake."

This is adorable.

When I was very little, I asked my dad how Babe Ruth could be a good baseball player. I said, "Daddy, isn't he too fat to run the bases very fast?" My dad replied, "Honey, he didn't have to do much running."

Thank you, Theo, for redeeming my slobbishness.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Not as good as King Felix, though, who shut down the (admittedly anemic) A's offense last night.

I think his fastball got up to 99 mph yesterday. Pretty damn amazing. Though given the M's recent luck with young pitchers, I keep expecting his arm to go flying off at the shoulder any game now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Weren't cupcakes being discussed there yesterday?

Here too, I think. Did you get the recipe? I can send it to you.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My dad replied, "Honey, he didn't have to do much running."

And yet he stole home about six times.

(Okay, admittedly on the back end of a double steal. But still.)

Yeah, he looks like the real deal. Of course, our superstud young pitcher, Rich Harden, has been injured off and on all year. Harden had a couple pitches clocked at 102 mph in one game this year. The mind boggles. Of course, I'd be perfectly content with him throwing 97 mph if he'd just stay in the rotation.

What is even happening?

Cashmere, can you forward me a copy, please? Months ago, I got a copy and saved it to my lj in a private entry. I went looking when you first asked, but can't find it. I don't know if I was house cleaning the lj and had a delusional moment where I thought I wouldn't bother, or what. But I can't find it, anywhere.

Coding and Sleeping

Hey the Royals won a game. That puts them only 32 games out of the wildcard spot.
