Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Not as good as King Felix, though, who shut down the (admittedly anemic) A's offense last night.

I think his fastball got up to 99 mph yesterday. Pretty damn amazing. Though given the M's recent luck with young pitchers, I keep expecting his arm to go flying off at the shoulder any game now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Weren't cupcakes being discussed there yesterday?

Here too, I think. Did you get the recipe? I can send it to you.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I passed it on, Lee. It's like the tastiest chain mail evah!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My dad replied, "Honey, he didn't have to do much running."

And yet he stole home about six times.

(Okay, admittedly on the back end of a double steal. But still.)

Yeah, he looks like the real deal. Of course, our superstud young pitcher, Rich Harden, has been injured off and on all year. Harden had a couple pitches clocked at 102 mph in one game this year. The mind boggles. Of course, I'd be perfectly content with him throwing 97 mph if he'd just stay in the rotation.

What is even happening?

Cashmere, can you forward me a copy, please? Months ago, I got a copy and saved it to my lj in a private entry. I went looking when you first asked, but can't find it. I don't know if I was house cleaning the lj and had a delusional moment where I thought I wouldn't bother, or what. But I can't find it, anywhere.

Coding and Sleeping

Hey the Royals won a game. That puts them only 32 games out of the wildcard spot.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Today is Aidan's first day of school.
Sweet little boy going to school already??? Sigh... They grow up so fast.
At this point, the only thing that's keeping me from laughing hysterically at our pathetic summer, is the now seemingly permanent instinct to cry at the drop of a hat.
Cindy, I hope you feel better soon and that the world just lays the hell off for a while.
they're just cupcakes wearing muscle shirts, pretending to be healthy.

Production meeting over. Plate too full. Boss having another one of those days... I write email of everything she need TODAY, let her rank them in order, from "actually has to be done today" to "why, yes, I am cranky, taking it out on everyone else and that can wait now that I am forced to confront reality."

Buffista babies going to school - scary! School doesn't know what's going to hit it.

Heh.

Let's play "Pick Raq's new hair color!" Model with my coloration, if not my facial structure, and my curl; four funky color choices: [link]
