Hey -t! So good to see you!
Now I'ma google quick minkee.
Oh, that was a cheat. It was all baby blankets and whale stories.
Aidan: bouncing so hard in his crib it's scooting all over the room.
Me: Kara, let's go subdue Aidan. Shall we smoosh him?
Kara: NO! That would make him 'splode!
Me: Like a pinata? Would we get candy?
Kara: No! It would be all bones and formula! And it would be a big mess in my room! And we'd have to nunu it! It's not a good idea.
-t!
have fun vw.
and susan's sil gets no pie.
Hi everyone! I'm at a starbucks for the high speend connection so I can actually chat for a bit.
Unfortunately, I sprang for the connection because I have to figure out how to get our stuff out of our house. We thought it was only a little condemned and we'd be able to move back in after some repairs, but that is not the case. And sincce neitehr of us wants to spend anotehr hurricane season on the Gulf Coast, moving away now seems sensible. To where I don't know.
Remember when my life was boring and I never had any news? I miss that.
Hi -t. I hope everything works out for the best with the move.
Oh sweetie. Is it possible for H to transfer to the NY office? Would you want to live in NY? Are there any other offices of his in areas you would want to live? Could I ask you any more totally non-insightful questions about things I am sure you have already thought of?
I've heard Zimbabwe is nice.
Heya, -t! It's good to see you, although I'm sorry about the go-through-its-pockets-looking-for-loose-change state of the house.
Unfortunately, there is not NY office. He's at the disaster recovery site which is leased from IBM until they move operations back to Metairie this weekend. The corporate offices are in Ft Lauderdale (temporarily, or so they are saying now) which I'm sure is very nice but not exactly secure from hurricanes.
The theory is that we will go wherever we decide to go and he will work remotely as long as they let him (which may be a while, they've had a guy working remotely from Chicago for 6 months or so already).
The moving will be okay, it's just working out the logistics of it that's a pain. Do I spend a buttload of money on getting me down there to pack stuff up? Are there movers available at all? We'll figure it out, but it's been such a bad six weeks I'm finding this kind of straw and camelback ish.
Kara is impressing me with thinking ahead to the consequences. No squishing because that will make a mess, so sensible.
Damn, -t, I'm so sorry about your house, and sadder now than ever that I missed meeting you at the last F2F when NOLA was truly your home. The universe owes you a good half-decade of no remarkable news at all (unless it's good. Bad news, or even value-neutral but merely remarkable news, completely forbidden, but the universe could, and bloody well ought to, come through with a chunk of the good).
