Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sympathies, Jilli. Open-plan offices are on my personal list of EVIL.

Trust my rage

I have to avoid the Gymboee stuff - it's all so cute!

Ellie has more clothes than she can ever wear, but still I want to buy more. eBay might be a good solution for that.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a sudden desire to play "I'm smooshing your head between my fingers".

It's times like this that I am glad my office is tucked away in a corner where not a lot of people go.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Oh thank the Gods. I sent the following email to my previous employer re: letter of recommendation:

What a shame that companies are forced to implement such restrictive policies due to our increasingly litigious environment. While I understand the rationale, the work that I did at Company X is such a nice complement to the Masters for which I'm applying. I wonder if there might be a difference if the letter is for an academic (rather than employment) recommendation. Would you mind if I contacted someone in HR to find out the specifics of the policy? I don't want to burden you with having to do any research on my behalf.

Having been out of school for almost 10 years, the workplace recommendations are an important part of my application. I'd love to be able to include one from you since you were such a mentor for me and I learned so much during my time there. Anything you might be able to do would be truly appreciated.

Thanks so much for your time - I know how busy you are. If it turns out that you can write the letter, I can provide you with sample letters and other information that would hopefully make it an easier task.

To which she replied:

I will forward your email to my contact in HR to see if they will make any exceptions.

Yay! It's not another no! Please send all the write!the!damned!letter!~ma that you can spare.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Buffista ~ma is very powerful stuff. I managed to get through five hours of classes today without breaking down into tears or falling asleep. Thanks, everyone. A year ago I would have totally given into the urge to stay in bed and hide all day. I think I am growing or something. Tonight I think Dave and I are going out for Chinese food because, there is no way I am cooking and I think I just need Chinese food tonight. Give me salt or die, or something like that.

Yay, Maria!!! Wishing you all the best for your wedding day!

Yeah, Stephanie. I am so happy for you for your family time.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I love my PT.

I have a bad muscle strain--no disk involvement or anything, so that's a relief. He gave me some stretches, told me to rest and ice as much as I could, and to get other people to do the heavy lifting for me as much as possible this weekend. So I was doing the right things, but now I have specific stretches, and the massaging and manipulating he did has me feeling better already.
