Raq, what's the weather like in the fall/winter in Greece? I have some long sleeved rompers in 6-12 month size that may fit Mal and was wondering if you'd be interested in them.
It's like you read my mind! I've been surfing eBay for just this. Fall/winter here is mostly cool and damp, with occasional dips to freezing and snow. I would love to take you up on your offer.
I'm a little scared of Bored!Rio.
Yay for K-Bug and the learner's permit! Boo for Owen on the coffee table.
She just wrote to tell me said co. doesn't allow employees to write letters of rec for liability reasons. FUCK! Now what? This is making me feel shittier than it probably should.
Is she fully aware it's an academic recommendation, not an employment recommendation? There are policies about job recs, but maybe if you wheedled a little and asked if there was any wiggle room to write an academic rec. Maybe just ask her to investigate the policy more carefully?

Almost like the time I, wearing a flowered blouse and a C-cup, got called "Sir."
Snerk. "Do I look like Peppermint Patty? Then why you wanna treat me like Peppermint Patty?"

I hope Rio's hip surgery heals quickly.
Maybe just ask her to investigate the policy more carefully?
I'm trying to formulate an email to do this, but I don't want her to feel like I'm pushing her into a corner you know? How does one say please to help me here????

Could you maybe talk to the company's HR department before asking her again?
Here's the start of my email. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated:
Oh, that's disappointing. The work that I did at Company X is such a nice complement to the Masters for which I'm applying. Is there no wiggle room for an academic (rather than employment) recommendation?
After looking up information on this liability on the Internet, it seems that the liability lies with the requester (me, in this instance) pursuing legal action against the rec writer (you, in this instance). I'd be happy to sign a waiver of some sort saying 1.) I won't read the letter and 2.) I'd give up any rights to pursuing such action. Is there someone in HR who might be able to help? I'd be happy to give him/her a call and explain the situation.
I'm really sorry to push, but the recommendations are an important part of the application process and without one from you representing my time at Company X,.... Anything you might be able to do would be greatly appreciated.
{{{sj}}} Forwarding on as much motivation as I can spare. Mind you, I'll need it back later.
Fast-healing~ma to Rio!
they're the only one I've been to that'll point out if you have an outstanding balance as you're checking in.
Ick, Susan. That would definitely send me running. Right now I'm holding off on some medical tests until I change my insurance to better coverage for pretty much that very reason.
Okay, my physical therapist is a minor god. Remind me of this later when I am sore beyond reason, but damn he fixed what I've messed up in the past few days.
There is a model in our studio wearing a velvety pink, and quite short, nurses uniform. Complete with hat, thigh-high fishnets and platform heels. Somewhere ND is distracted and smiling.

Most people I know who've gone to PT come home saying their PT is a major sadist, so good show, Cass.
How is your grandmother, today?
