{{{{Windsparrow}}} Go see a doctor right away. UTIs should not go unchecked.
Wow, how does one have a UTI for 6 months without kidney rupture? Or, you know, without wanting to DIE?
UTI symptoms can vary widely from person to person. I barely have an pain when I have one (which is often), other than just feeling icky.
Your UTIs must not be like my UTIs. I couldn't deal with one unchecked for 6 days
Man, I can't deal with one for 6 hours. I've only had 2 (knock wood) but ended up in the emergency room for both because the pain was so bad I couldn't think. They hurt worse than having the surface of my eye etched off with acid and regrow over 3 days; worse than walking on a fibula that was snapped into two pointy pieces for 2 days; worse than childbirth.
Your UTIs must not be like my UTIs. I couldn't deal with one unchecked for 6 days, let alone months. Are you positive this is the correct diagnosis? However, I may just be a huge wimp.
You're no wimp. I just don't experience much in the way of concrete pain with mine. The six month one, that just an estimate of how long it went on. You see, after a few months of night sweats, (ETA some minor irregularity with my period), fatigue, and little accidents, I went in to talk to my doc about premature menopause. He ran a battery of tests in which nothing hormonal was out of range. Had me pee in a cup, and Ta Da! massive white blood cell count. By the time the antibiotics had done their stuff and I was feeling enough better I wanted to do things like go for a walk, I couldn't so much as make it across the road without weeping in exhaustion.
There has been much fatigue in the last few months which I was chaulking up to the stress of the move. Had a couple of little accidents, and last night, I woke up in a cold sweat. So, the diagnosis is by no means sure, but I do feel much like I did back then. I have lots of immune-system boosting supplements, so I'll take 'em, and see what happens. Olive leaf extract, garlic, and some other good stuff. I'd rather try this then run off to an uninsured doctor visit on the basis of one night sweat.
Mal is SIX MONTHS OLD? Wow. That seems fast. Does it seem fast to you, Raq?
Not Raq, but Em turns 10 months old in 9 days and WHERE DID IT GO?? It seems very very very fast. At this, rate, I'll be posting her DL picture next month!
Poor Cash!! Owen, you be a good boy and listen to the stories!

Wow, whoda thunk it. I didn't mean to assume...

Try cranberry supplements, thought I don't know how effective they are after a UTI has set in.
t /my UTIs love carrots
I think it still helps. Golden seal, too(not just for passing drug screens, but it does this too, because it is purifying to the urinary tract.)

It's on the list, but has to wait til payday. Way back when, doc said 4oz per day of pure, as in $6/quart nasty tasting, no sugar added, pure cranberry juice per day (permissable to add in diet soda to make it tolerable) or if I couldn't stand it, 1000mg vitC twice a day. I've got the C.
Thanks for the suggestion, erika. I was figuring to look at the ingredients for the herbal meds given to my Harvey for his UTI/struvite crystals problem, to flesh out my supplies come pay day.

If you're going in to get your urine tested (and you really should) the cran tablets should wait til after, because they can futch with the results. I think they even hastened the work of the anti-biotics. But yes, you can make them a regular item of health maintenance. I love them.
Golden seal is good to have because it's also a good cold/allergy remedy. Unless you have either diabetes or high blood pressure, and I'm sorry I can't remember which. Make sure you get the root and take it with a lot of water.
